Doucy-Combelouvière is a small family friendly village, built in traditional style in wood and stone on the side of the valley overlooking Valmorel. The views are simply stunning and the village has excellent direct access to Valmorel and the La Grande Domaine ski area. The lifts connect straight from the centre of the village to Valmorel and over 150km of pistes for all abilities. The ski area is particularly popular with families having excellent provision for beginners and intermediates - all through lovely tree lined scenery and with easy runs right back to the heart of the village. ESF meet at the foot of the lifts - just 100m from the apartment building and the Piou Piou club for under fives, as well as restaurants, supermarket and ski hire shops are all located close to the lift and within a few paces of the apartment.
Doucy has its own large outdoor swimming pool and separate children’s pool with sun terraces for summer use. For adrenelin junkies the summer mountain biking and enduro opportunities are fabulous, and there is also a bike park. Routes for road cycling are stunning and the parapentes takeoff from the grass slopes just in front of the residence. If you prefer to enjoy a more peaceful holiday visit local traditional villages and crafts places or walk through the alpine meadows and forests surrounding the village.
The gorgeous Vanoise national park is close by offering amazing walking and chances to see alpine wildlife in the natural habitat surrounding the glaciers.
Access is easy as this is first resort in the Tarentaise reached from the motorway driving out of Geneva, Lyon or Chambery. The Eurostar arrives direct into nearby Moutiers or there are fast roads at the bottom of the valley linking up to Doucy with an easy drive.
