Aire de Montagne is a comfortable, sunny and spacious 57m2 - 2 bedroom apartment sleeping up to 6 people. One luxury king sized bedroom, and second bedroom with bunkbeds with a small double bed for bottom bunk and a single bed on the top bunk. Lounge has a new, comfortable double sofa bed.
Only a very short walk to the telesiege linking in a few minutes to 150km of beautiful pistes making up Le Grande Domaine ski area. Good for all abilities, it is especially popular with families with excellent provision for beginners and intermediates.
In the summer the area is a mountain bikers and walkers heaven. The village has its own large outdoor swimming pool with sun terraces for summer use. The apartment has a large terrace overlooking the Tarentaise valley and with stunning mountain views towards Valmorel. The whole apartment is newly built with lots of luxury extras such as underfloor heating and a roomy electric bootwarmer rack for skiboots. There are also electric convector heaters in each room for when the underfloor heating is not on. Free wifi is included throughout the apartment.
There is free parking on site in a private garage space for secure storage for your car, motorbike, cycles, kayaks etc and there is a private ski locker for ski equipment. There is also a private secure cycle anchor in the garage to enable cycles or any other mobile equipment to be padlocked. And just in case all of that isn't enough there is plenty of free outside parking just in front of the apartment building.
The larger bedroom is light and has a new comfortable king sized bed as well as plenty of good storage with a double wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets plus a mirror. The duvet in this room is a super king size which can be zipped apart into two single duvets to give lots of flexibility to sleeping arrangements. As with everything in this apartment, all of the furniture is completely new and of high quality solid wood.
For smaller guests we have a travel cot with high quality mattress available as well as a highchair and selection of toddler bowls, plates and cutlery.
The second bedroom also has a window (no dark windowless bedrooms in this apartment!) and contains a bunk bed, with 120cm bottom bunk (double sized) and 90cm top bunk (single sized). This allows two couples to use the apartment in comfort, without consigning one couple to using normal bunk beds, but also gives maximum flexibility for family use. In addition there is chest of drawers and mirror. There is a double duvet and single duvet provided.
The spacious living area incorporates a fully equipped kitchen space, with combination microwave, fullsized 4 ring hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A good quality filter coffee-maker, kettle and toaster are also provided. The kitchen comes with plenty of cupboards for storage and a good amount of work-surface. Excellent selection of dishes, glasses and cooking utensils are supplied. There are enough to prepare whatever you want, be it a gourmet meal or bread and local cheeses with wine for lunch on the terrace!
The spacious and light lounge has a comfortable corner sofa-bed converting to a double bed. There is enough soft seating for everyone to relax together and noone has to spend their evening perching on the hard dining chairs! There is also a dining area with seating for six so everyone can enjoy eating together and sharing details of the day's activities.
The lounge area also has additional generous storage and shelving. Large light sliding doors lead out onto the terrace.
The large private terrace is about 10m2 and includes a good sized table and patio furniture for al fresco dining. The terrace enjoys simply stunning views down the Tarentaise valley or up to the mountains above Valmorel. With it's sunny aspect and great table and chairs, it is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or sip a glass of wine with a good book!
The large stylish bathroom has a shower with glass enclosure, plenty of storage under the designer basin for guest toiletries plus a toilet. The bathroom also comes with the added luxury of it's own full sized automatic washer/dryer machine. There is a good sized entrance hall with a useful bench on which to sit whilst putting on outdoor boots or shoes. As a fabulous luxury touch, there is even an electric bootdryer rack with room for everyone to store and dry their skiboots so that those are nice and warm to put on the next day!
The price includes the apartment rental for the period required and one final cleaning charge. The rates below are for the apartment rental, per week, and include utilities, heating, wifi and use of the private garage space but not the final cleaning charge. The cleaning charge, which is an additional 90 euros per booking including tax, is shown separately so that it is not included more than once if you stay longer than one week.
Linens are available for hire: 30 euros for a double pack including sheets and 2 large and 2 small towels. 18 euros for a single pack including sheets and 1 large and 1 small towel.
Payment can either be in euros or pounds by bank transfer. You may also pay in pounds, euros or US dollars using our online payment facility which accepts both credit and debit cards.

The ski resort of Valmorel & adjoining Saint-François-Longchamp offers a great mix of skiing. We had lots of fresh off-piste, open snow parks, challenging Black runs, fun Red runs and easy going Blue and Green runs lower down. I always came back with a smile on my face keen to explore more the next day.

What a lovely fresh and modern apartment everything looked and felt so new. We had a great time making the most of the region from Bourge St Maurice (also managed to catch the towns farmers and local produce and craft market day...wow) and Valmorel. Using the funicular and chairlifts we would get to both summits then spending all day wandering happily down.

Nous avons passé un séjour d une semaine très agréable, il faut dire que le temps était de la partie. La neige aussi. L'appartement est un trois pièces très bien équipé, tout y est même une petite touche de deco Ainsi qu'une terrasse utilisable même en hiver. La vue offre un panorama global des montagnes environnantes, L'immeuble est neuf et moins bruyant que les locations habituelles. Un parking vient parfaire cette location. Les contacts avec la propriétaire ce sont très bien passé. En conclusion nous ne manquerons pas de recontacter cette personne. Très cordialement."

Two weeks ago I travelled to Doucy from England for a biking adventure holiday to see what else the Alps had to offer besides Morzine. Having set off very early we drove a fully loaded van from the UK and managed to reach Aire De Montagne in time to prep our bikes and have an evening sunset meal on the balcony. If you’re coming from the UK I’d definitely recommend driving with mates and getting another driver insured. Even with taking the Eurotunnel it’s much cheaper than flying and the drive was relatively easy. We were very happy with the accommodation on arrival. The flat is very modern and has everything you would want, including one of the best showers I’ve ever had and incredible balcony views. We stuffed our faces with cheese and wine every evening watching the sun go down and ate fresh croissants and pain au chocolat in the mornings before heading out to ride. We arrived in Doucy without much prior knowledge of the riding on offer but we were not disappointed! The lift from Doucy gave us access to fun enduro trails and the nearby skiing village of Valmorel has a growing DH bike park with 25K of trials accessible by lift pass. You can also ride any of the numerous hiking trails back down to the village which are also great fun. It takes about 15 minutes to drive the winding roads to Valmorel from the apartment but you can also cycle in about 30 minutes if you feel like riding. A week’s lift pass is only £70 which is a steal considering you have so much mountain decent at your disposal. The trails themselves are well built and have good flow to them. If you like smashing burms there is a Red graded run that must have over 50 switchbacks which will put your cornering abilities to the test! After a days riding you can take a chairlift up to ride down a mountain ridge back to Doucy. If you fancy riding some hiking trails you can get almost 1km of vertical decent down to the base of the mountain from Doucy. We used the van to shuttle the riders back to the top but we heard from a local tour guide that you can get on free buses back up the mountain. In summary, we really enjoyed our time in Doucy. The place has such a relaxing atmosphere and plenty of riding to keep you entertained for the week. I will be returning at some point in the future!"

Nous nous sommes rendu avec ma famille dans cet appartement pour une semaine. Nous étions cinq et avons trouvé l'appartement spacieux et surtout très bien équipé (il y a tout ce dont vous avez besoin!). C'était la première fois que nous nous rendions sur ce domaine skiable et nous avons été agréablement surpris. L'accès aux pistes est à 2 minutes a pied de l'appartement et le domaine Skiable est grand et offre pleins de possibilités en terme de niveau de pistes mais aussi pour partir sur la journée explorer. Le village de Doucy est très charmant et a tout ce dont vous pourrez avoir besoin: petite épicerie, boulangerie, magasins de ski/location, restaurants et surtout la vue de l'appartement sur la vallée est absolument magnifique. En résumé je recommande donc cet appartement pour un séjour bien agréable situé dans un domaine skiable très appréciable. Nous pensons également nous rendre là-bas pendant l’été afin d’explorer la région sous un nouveau paysage et de profiter des multiples activités possibles."

We have just returned from a wonderful, family skiing holiday and found Aire de Montagne to be the perfect base for our week. It is a beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished, spacious apartment. It is warm and very well equipped throughout. Comfortable beds, a lovely bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and beautiful views. Add in free wifi, private indoor parking, a ski locker and boot dryer and it is difficult to think of anything extra that would be needed. Doucy-Combelouviere is a pretty, friendly, small resort with a good range of restaurants, shops and ski hire centres, with a range of facilities for all ages available. The apartment is a very short walk from the chair lift which takes you to the Grand Domaine ski area, providing a great range of pistes, with plenty of runs for all abilities of skiers and snowboarders. Most of the slopes were quiet even though it was half term and there is a lovely long green piste back to Doucy-Combelouviere, which is a picturesque way to finish a session on the slopes! The area is so lovely and with such a gorgeous apartment available, we look forward to returning in the summer to experience the biking and walking opportunities here."
