The Three Valleys area within Savoie in the Auvergne Rhone Alps region contains some of the most stunning scenery and the largest skiing area within France. It consists of the 3 parallel valleys of St Bon with the Courcheval resorts, Les Allues situated at its heart containing Meribel and with the largest valley being the Belleville where St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens are found. It encompasses a wide variety of resorts, from the well known piste-side après venues of Meribel, to quieter and more typically French villages such as St Martin de Belleville, or the spa and ski resort of Brides les Bains, linked to Meribel with a modern gondola.
The valleys are joined at the bottom by the Bozel valley, where Brides les Bains is located, just at the confluence with the middle of the Three Valleys, the Allues Valley. Brides is hence very accessible and enjoys great connections to all of the resorts in the area. It is linked to Meribel by gondola and is included in the choice of resorts found within the area. Overall there are 8 resorts within the domain. These are interconnected to form the largest ski area in the world with 335 runs over 600km and 180 ski lifts to pistes of varying difficulty and altitude.
The domain is regularly cited as being the best intermediate area in the world and with Meribel right at its centre, the link from Brides is to an ideal starting point for access to all areas and with moguls, over 1000m of descent, offpiste and a great snowpark all within immediate reach.
What mere facts
can’t convey, however, is the stunning scenery of the area and the huge range
of activities on offer all though the year. Whether you are seeking
all action or total tranquillity, both are available in abundance. Our properties are located in villages occupied all year so make great bases to enjoy the spectacular autumn colours in October or fields of wild flowers from drifts of spring orchids right through to fields of autumn crocus.
